Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour Book made a stunning debut over the Black Friday weekend, selling over 814,000 copies in just three days, according to Circana, which tracks most U.S. print sales.
Although the book achieved blockbuster sales, it narrowly missed breaking the U.S. nonfiction record set by Barack Obama’s A Promised Land, which sold 816,000 copies in its first week in 2020.
The Eras Tour Book: A Must-Have for Swifties
Released exclusively through Target, the book bypassed traditional publishers and major online platforms like Amazon but still delivered remarkable results. It celebrates Swift’s nearly two-year-long Eras Tour, which began in March 2023 and concludes on December 8 in Vancouver.
The book features hundreds of never-before-seen photos, costume sketches, and behind-the-scenes insights from her record-breaking tour. Swift also shares personal reflections, breaking down each concert era and highlighting her favorite moments.
In the prologue, she recalls the moment she pitched the idea for the tour. “At the time, I was working on the Midnights album, and if we were to do what I’ve always done, it would’ve been The Midnights Tour. But there’s nothing I hate more than doing what I’ve always done.”
A Deeper Look into Taylor’s Vision
The book reveals how Swift integrated her new work with re-recorded versions of her first six albums. “My goal was for every fan to leave that show knowing I gave them absolutely everything I had,” she writes.
