Taylor Swift’s upcoming Eras Tour docuseries faces a new legal challenge just before its release. A Florida visual artist has filed a motion for a preliminary injunction to block the project’s debut on Disney+.
The six-part series, “The End of an Era,” is scheduled for release on December 12. It chronicles the development and global impact of Swift’s record-breaking tour. The motion was filed by artist Kimberly Marasco. She aims to halt the release pending the outcome of a copyright lawsuit against Swift.
Marasco alleges that Swift and her record labels copied her poetry. She claims her work was used in lyrics and visuals across several Swift albums. She argues that releasing the docuseries would cause “irreparable harm.” Her lawsuit states her creative work would become “irreversibly embedded” in global media.

A source close to Swift’s legal team strongly denied the claims. They called the allegations “abseless” and noted that basic themes like “love” cannot be copyrighted.
This is not the first lawsuit Marasco has filed against the singer. A previous case was dismissed after she failed to serve Swift legal papers within the required timeframe. The new motion is now before U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon. This is the same judge who presided over Marasco’s earlier lawsuits.

Legal analysts consider the motion unlikely to succeed. They note that injunctions are rare, especially in cases where potential damages could be calculated financially. The decision now rests with the court. It will determine whether one of the year’s most anticipated music releases can proceed as planned.
