After over six years together, Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have reportedly ended their long-term relationship.
A source cited by Page Six mentioned that the breakup wasn’t dramatic and that the relationship merely “ran its course.” Currently, Swift is on her “Eras Tour,” and Alwyn, an actor, has not been seen in the crowd.
The couple, both 33 years old, began dating a few months after meeting at the 2016 Met Gala, but they only went public with their relationship in 2017. Over the years, they have managed to keep their romance private, despite fans constantly speculating about which of Swift’s songs are about Alwyn.
The pair have been at the center of engagement rumors on several occasions, with Swift even spotted wearing what looked like an engagement ring in her 2020 Netflix documentary “Miss Americana.” However, they never confirmed these rumors, and Alwyn stated in an interview with WSJ Magazine that he wouldn’t reveal their relationship status even if he did propose.
Throughout their time together, Swift and Alwyn maintained their privacy. Alwyn told Vogue in a 2018 interview, “I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people.” Swift echoed these sentiments in her 2020 documentary, stating, “We decided together we wanted our relationship to be private.”
Although it’s always disheartening to hear about the end of a long-term relationship, it’s reassuring to know that Swift and Alwyn have no bad blood. As they move on from this chapter in their lives, we wish them both the best.
