Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is a country in South Asia. It is the fifth most populous country in the world, with a population of almost 243 million, and has the second highest Muslim population after Indonesia. With an area of 881,913 square kilometers, Pakistan is the 33rd largest country in the world and the second largest in South Asia. (340,509 square miles). It has a 1,046-kilometer (650-mile) coastline along the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman in the south and shares land borders with India, Afghanistan, Iran, and China. It is separated from Tajikistan in the north by Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor and shares a maritime border with Oman. Islamabad is the nation’s capital, while Karachi is the country’s largest city and economic hub.
