Indian actress Taapsee Pannu faces a complaint filed by the religious organization Hind Rakshak Sangathan, accusing her of hurting Hindu sentiments, according to an IANS report.
The complaint stems from Pannu wearing a necklace featuring Goddess Lakshmi’s image while dressed in what the complainant considers revealing attire. The group claims Pannu’s actions have deeply hurt religious emotions and promoted obscenity.
Eklavya Singh Gaur, the convener of Hind Rakshak Sangathan Indore and son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur, filed the complaint.
Police have confirmed they received the complaint against the actress for allegedly harming religious sentiments and tarnishing the Hindu religion’s image.
Pannu shared a photo and video from her March 12th Lakme Fashion Week ramp walk on her Instagram account on March 14th. She wore a red blazer with a deep neckline and a skirt with a high slit designed by Ritu Kumar.
The controversial necklace featuring Goddess Lakshmi’s image accompanied the outfit. Pannu has not yet responded to the legal action or released a statement.
