The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced tentative dates for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Set for February 7 to March 8, 2026, the tournament will feature 55 matches across seven venues, with 20 teams competing, according to ESPNcricinfo.
The ICC has informed participating countries about the February-March window. Five venues in India and two in Sri Lanka will host the games. The final’s location, either Ahmedabad, India, or Colombo, Sri Lanka, depends on whether Pakistan qualifies. The tournament follows the same format as the 2024 T20 World Cup held in the West Indies and the USA.

Twenty teams will compete, including India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, USA, West Indies, New Zealand, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, Netherlands, and Italy. Five more teams will join: two from an Africa qualifier and three from an Asia and East Asia Pacific qualifier.

The teams will form four groups of five. The top two from each group advance to the Super Eight round, splitting into two groups of four. The top two from each Super Eight group reach the semi-finals, leading to the final on March 8, 2026.
