The Panoptikum Wax Museum in Hamburg, Germany, unveiled a Taylor Swift statue last Monday, but fans aren’t impressed.
The German museum, known for its extensive collection of wax figures, including icons like Elvis Presley and The Beatles, is the oldest and largest in Germany, with over 120 statues.
Not the Best Piece of Art
In their effort to capture Taylor Swift’s likeness, the museum presented her in what seems to be a knockoff of her 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards sequined romper. Despite the museum’s global reputation for quality tributes, ‘Swifties’ were quick to express their displeasure with this latest creation. What was meant to be a celebratory tribute soon turned into a meme fest, with fans voicing their discontent.
The online reaction was overwhelmingly negative, overshadowing any constructive feedback. Comments on social media platform X included, “Baby, this is an art teacher from Minnesota,” “Oh, they did her DIRTY,” and “If someone made a wax figure of me this bad, I’d end up on the national news.” One fan even bluntly stated, “It’s f* horrible.”
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is gearing up for her next performance at London’s Wembley Stadium this weekend. The Grammy-winning artist has faced some fan-related challenges as Wembley Stadium announced it would not permit tailgating before her concert.
