Authorities have identified the suspect who allegedly brought a gun to Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach in what the FBI suggests may have been an attempted attack on Donald Trump.
The suspect, confirmed by sources to TMZ, is Ryan Wesley Routh, a 58-year-old man from Hawaii.
Routh, whose social media profiles feature numerous pro-Ukraine posts, has also appeared in a YouTube video discussing his decision to travel to Kyiv to aid in the conflict against Russian forces. His online activity includes political posts supporting both Ukraine and Taiwan, and CNN reports that he has faced multiple arrests in the past.
According to law enforcement, Routh arrived at the golf course armed with an AK-47-style weapon, carrying two backpacks and a GoPro camera. The situation escalated when a Secret Service agent noticed the weapon through a fence and confronted Routh, who then fled the scene in an SUV. Local police subsequently apprehended him.
While Routh has not yet been formally charged, authorities anticipate that he will face both state and federal charges related to the incident.
