Ishtiaq Memon, an assistant controller of examinations at Sukkur IBA University, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his home on Sunday, sparking an intensive police investigation.
Police reported that Memon’s body was found in his Sukkur Society residence, where his two sisters were also discovered unconscious.
Originally from Shikarpur district in Sindh, Memon had been residing in Sukkur with his sisters, who work in the city.
Family members decided to break down the door after failing to reach Memon by phone for a prolonged period. Inside, they encountered the grim scene of Memon deceased and his sisters incapacitated, which led them to notify the authorities.

The siblings were promptly taken to the hospital, according to the police, who have begun a thorough inquiry to determine the details of this tragic event.

A senior superintendent from Sukkur Police mentioned that the definitive cause of the incident would be established following the analysis of the post-mortem report.
The university’s Vice Chancellor, Asif Shaikh, clarified that although Memon handled examination-related responsibilities, he was not involved in the recent Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) beyond possibly serving as an invigilator.
