Maddock Films, producer of Stree 2, has declared the film India’s “number one Hindi film of all time.”
The company announced this milestone on X (formerly Twitter) by sharing a celebratory poster. The film has outgrossed Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ in lifetime Hindi box office collections.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that ‘Stree 2’, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has earned 586 crore Indian rupees domestically. On his X account, Adarsh posted, “#Stree2 scripts HISTORY… Becomes the HIGHEST-GROSSING HINDI FILM EVER… Crosses lifetime biz of #Jawan [Hindi version]. Next stop: Inaugurating the ₹600 cr Club.”
Week 5 earnings were: Friday 3.60 crore INR, Saturday 5.55 crore INR, Sunday 6.85 crore INR, Monday 3.17 crore INR, Tuesday 2.65 crore INR, totalling 586 crore INR.
Comparatively, ‘Jawan’, directed by Atlee and released in 2023, grossed 640.25 crore INR across all languages in India, with 582.31 crore INR from the Hindi version alone. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and others in an action-packed narrative.
Amar Kaushik directed ‘Stree 2,’ which features cameos by Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar. The sequel, which follows the first ‘Stree’ film in 2018, has exceeded expectations and captured audiences nationwide. It also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana.
