The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared Tuesday, September 17, a bank holiday to mark Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), which falls on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the day celebrates the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birth, a pivotal event in the Islamic calendar.
Eid Miladun Nabi is observed with deep respect and devotion throughout Pakistan. The day features various religious activities, such as special prayers, recitations of the Holy Quran, and sermons that emphasize the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life and teachings.
Cities and towns across the country are festively decorated, and processions take place to honour the Prophet’s legacy and remind followers of his messages of peace, compassion, and justice.
Alongside the SBP, various governmental bodies, educational institutions, and businesses will also close for the holiday.
