Fans of Star Wars: Ahsoka have finally received a positive sign about season two after a long period of uncertainty. Disney+ has updated its New Year homepage and included Ahsoka among the series scheduled for release in 2026.
It has been nearly two years since Dave Filoni confirmed the show’s return with an early sketch announcement. Since then, official updates have remained scarce, apart from reports that production wrapped late last year.
Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, Ahsoka follows former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates a new and dangerous threat to an already fragile galaxy. The series plays a key role in the expanding post-Return of the Jedi timeline.
The show stars Rosario Dawson, alongside Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, Eman Esfandi, Lars Mikkelsen, and David Tennant. The late Ray Stevenson also delivered a widely praised performance in season one.

Speculation around the release date has grown in recent months. Many viewers expected a 2026 debut, but concerns surfaced when Ahsoka did not appear in Disney’s earlier promotional material outlining its 2026 slate. That omission fueled fears of a delay into 2027.
The latest Disney+ update suggests the series remains on schedule. Still, industry watchers caution that a late 2026 release remains more realistic. The show relies heavily on visual effects, which often extend post-production timelines and can lead to last-minute scheduling changes.
Looking ahead, Lucasfilm plans to reduce the number of live-action Disney+ projects as it shifts focus toward theatrical releases such as The Mandalorian & Grogu and Starfighter. Even so, animated Star Wars content will continue this year, including a Visions spin-off and a new Darth Maul series.
With no Star Wars Celebration scheduled for this year, fans may have to wait until D23: Ultimate Fan Event this summer for more concrete details.
For now, season one of Ahsoka is available to stream on Disney+, as anticipation continues to build for the next chapter in Ahsoka Tano’s journey.
