On April 9, 2025, Spotify experienced a global outage that left thousands of users in the UK, US, and other countries unable to stream music for approximately one hour.

The issue began at 10:00 BST and resulted in over 7,500 reports from users in the UK and nearly 4,000 in the US. Users reported problems such as app crashes, website issues, and difficulties with video streaming.

Frustrated fans took to X to express concerns about issues like black screens, login failures, and loading errors. Spotify’s support team (@username_1) responded on the platform, confirming that the problems had been resolved and thanking users for their patience.

We’re aware of some recent issues that should be all clear now! Thanks for your patience, you rock. Give @SpotifyCares a shout if you need anything.

Spotify’s support team also advised, “Everything’s back to normal. Please reinstall the app if you’re still experiencing issues,” and directed users to customer service for additional assistance.

The outage’s root cause isn’t public yet, but the service has been fully restored. After a rocky hour, Spotify is back in tune, calming users who flooded social media with complaints.
