Superintendent of Police (SP) City Islamabad, Khan Zeb, was injured and subsequently hospitalized following an assault, intervened to stop a group of individuals who were reportedly harassing women at a local restaurant in Islamabad.
Responding to a distress call from the citizens, SP Zeb arrived at the restaurant and attempted to halt the harassment. During this intervention, he was attacked and sustained injuries. He was quickly shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad and the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) visited him at the hospital to check his condition.
The police have initiated an investigation into the assault and are currently searching for the suspects involved in the incident.
In a related matter, the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) cybercrime circle in Rawalpindi recently arrested two individuals, Adil Iftikhar and Ahsan Qayyum, for their involvement in online sexual harassment. The suspects allegedly shared inappropriate photographs and videos of a woman and blackmailed her. According to the FIA spokesperson, the men extorted 68,000 rupees from the victim over time.
