Police are collecting evidence at the blast site, though no group has claimed responsibility, per spokesman Habib Islam. “Maulana Abdullah faced prior threats,” Islam noted, referencing an attack seven months ago. Mosques in KP, especially during Friday prayers, remain frequent targets.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman denounced the South Waziristan mosque blast. “It’s tragic and violates Ramazan’s sanctity,” he said, urging action on KP and Balochistan’s lawlessness. Past attacks, like the 2023 Peshawar blast (101 killed) and 2022 Koocha Risaldar bombing, underscore the region’s volatility.
The South Waziristan mosque blast reflects rising instability in KP. With JUI leaders repeatedly targeted, evidenced by last month’s Nowshera seminary attack, this incident demands urgent security measures to protect civilians and religious sites.
