The South African women’s ODI series win was confirmed after a hard-fought 16-run victory over Pakistan in the second One Day International at SuperSport Park. The result gave the hosts an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ICC Women’s Championship series, with one match still remaining.
Batting first, South Africa made a confident start. Openers Laura Wolvaardt and Tasmin Brits built a steady foundation, setting the tone for a competitive total.
Wolvaardt scored 20 before departing, while Brits shifted momentum in South Africa’s favour with an aggressive approach at the top of the order.
The South African women’s ODI series win was powered by strong middle-order contributions. Tasmin Brits led the charge with a fluent 77 off 62 balls, anchoring the innings during the early stages.

After brief contributions from the top order, the middle order stepped up. Sune Luus played a composed knock of 57, ensuring stability at a crucial moment.
Annerie Dercksen delivered the standout performance. She struck 90 from 68 deliveries, hitting six fours and four sixes. Although she narrowly missed a century, her partnership with Luus pushed South Africa into a commanding position.
Later, Nadine de Klerk added valuable runs in the closing overs, including a towering six. As a result, Pakistan’s bowling attack struggled to contain the scoring in the final phase.
The victory secured the series for South Africa and strengthened their position in the ICC Women’s Championship standings.
