Pakistani player Sohaib Sanaullah clinched another title for his country by winning the B Division at the Lake George Scrabble Tournament in New York, United States.
Sohaib delivered an outstanding performance, winning 14 out of 15 games to secure the championship. Despite a four-year break from competitive Scrabble to complete his education, the 22-year-old, dominating his opponents throughout the tournament, showed no signs of rust.
Not only did Sohaib win the B Division title, but he also earned the award for the highest single move, scoring an impressive 163 points. He topped this achievement with the highest single-game score of 646 points, garnering further recognition.
Neil Gaine and Justin Morris finished second and third, respectively, while Sohaib’s brother, Daniyal Sanaullah, also put in a strong performance to take fourth place.
The event drew 174 players from various divisions, reflecting the tournament’s competitive edge and international prestige. Pakistani contestants’ exceptional showing underscores their significant presence on the global Scrabble stage, where they continue to display their strategic expertise and wordplay skills.
