The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq has made a strong pitch for a way out from the present political stalemate. The political contacts proved somewhat effective as the government has been brought round to accept the re-verification of thumbprints in the disputed constituencies.
To make the reconciliatory overtures realized, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Khwaja Saad Rafique also talked to the JI leader Liaquat Baloch on phone.
The federal ministers assured that a high-level delegation of the government will call on the JI leadership today so that the formula put forward before Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, will be discussed.
