Sindh’s transport department has launched a province-wide crackdown on vehicles found using fake fitness certificates, as authorities tighten enforcement and improve road safety.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon directed officials to cancel route permits and register criminal cases against transporters operating vehicles with fraudulent fitness documentation. He also instructed the transport authority’s secretary to submit a detailed report on enforcement actions within three days.
The minister said some transporters had been using fake fitness certificates to bypass mandatory physical inspections of their vehicles. He described the practice as a serious violation of traffic and safety laws that poses a direct threat to public lives and property.

“Bogus fitness certificates are not only a breach of the law but a serious crime,” Sharjeel Memon said. He added that such violations undermine public trust and compromise passenger safety.
The provincial minister stressed that the government remains committed to making the transport system safer, more transparent, and fully compliant with the law. He said enforcement action would be taken without discrimination against anyone found involved in issuing or using fake fitness certificates.
Officials said the crackdown aims to ensure that all commercial vehicles on Sindh’s roads meet safety standards and undergo proper inspections, reducing the risk of accidents caused by unfit vehicles.
