On Friday, September 12, 2025, the Sindh government announced a complete ban on tobacco and nicotine products in all educational institutions across the province. This ban includes schools, colleges, and universities, both public and private. The Sindh tobacco ban aims to protect young people and promote a healthier environment in Sindh.

The ban covers all tobacco-related products. These include cigarettes, vapes, gutka, and other emerging nicotine substances. The Sindh education secretary issued a notification to enforce this policy. This ensures compliance across educational premises. This step builds on the government’s ongoing efforts to reduce harmful substance use among youth and aligns with the Sindh tobacco ban.

In July 2025, Sindh launched a major crackdown on drug abuse and trafficking to safeguard public health. This was especially vital for young people. A government spokesperson emphasized the province’s commitment to tackling drug use. The Sindh Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 2024, sets tough penalties. These include 7 to 14 years in prison for drug use, seven years for cultivation, and property seizure for drug sales. The tobacco ban in Sindh further supports these efforts by targeting specific substances.

The government plans to create a dedicated Anti-Narcotics Force to strengthen enforcement. The provincial cabinet approved three special courts to handle drug-related cases faster. Sindh works closely with the Anti-Narcotics Force and the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime in this fight.

To help those struggling with addiction, the government aims to expand rehabilitation centers. As part of the broader Sindh tobacco ban initiative, a helpline (021-111-374-634) has been launched for the public to report drug-related activities. The home department is securing the border areas to stop drug trafficking.

Sindh’s ban on tobacco and nicotine in schools shows its focus on protecting youth. The Sindh tobacco ban, in conjunction with strict laws, enforcement, and rehabilitation, demonstrates the government’s commitment to creating a safer and healthier province. These steps address both immediate dangers and long-term health goals.
