The provincial government has announced the Sindh School Closure for March 2026, with educational institutions set to remain closed from March 11 to March 31. However, examinations will continue on time, and institutions may hold online classes to maintain academic continuity.
The decision was taken during a Sindh Cabinet session. The provincial cabinet also said that all measures announced by the federal government to address the energy crisis will be enforced in Sindh.
Officials further stated that ministers’ salaries and perks in Sindh would be reduced in line with measures already announced by the federal government. The move comes as authorities respond to a wider fuel crisis affecting multiple provinces.

In Quetta, colleges and technical institutes in both the public and private sectors will also remain closed during the same period. The provincial government said the decision was taken due to the tense regional situation and the need to reduce potential disruptions.
Authorities also linked the closure to fuel conservation efforts during the crisis. The shortage follows rising tensions in the Middle East involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
