Senior journalist Zahid Gishkori has revealed that an expensive property in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa area was purchased under the name of a driver employed by a female politician from Sindh.
During a TV program, Gishkori revealed that his investigation uncovered a Pakistani citizen earning a monthly salary of Rs. 24,000 who owns property in Dubai’s prime location, “Marina Dubai.” which was bought in his name. Gishkori questioned how someone with such a modest income could afford such a costly property.
He further disclosed that a prominent female political figure from Sindh has a driver who purchased property near the Burj Khalifa. The driver’s permanent address on his ID card is listed as the politician’s residence. This driver benefited from the 2020 amnesty scheme.
Gishkori emphasized the need to investigate the sources of income used to purchase these properties or identify who bought them in their names. He also highlighted that 974 of Pakistan’s wealthiest individuals took advantage of the amnesty schemes in 2018 and 2020, allegedly to legalize black money.
Additionally, Gishkori mentioned that 75 members of the Pakistani assembly or public office holders have properties or businesses in Dubai.
