Sindh Police’s Feroz Brohi has disclosed that he and his father were abducted by bandits in Katcha on April 16, 2024.
The incident highlights the rising crime rate and escalating fear among citizens due to the persistent threat of Katcha bandits, challenging government and local law enforcement efforts to maintain control.
The increasing presence of these bandits is causing widespread alarm, prompting public demand for effective action and immediate resolution. This urgency is further underscored by a viral social media video showing another police officer, kidnapped 25 days earlier from Jacobabad, chained to a tree by the same bandits.
In the video, Feroz Brohi, visibly distressed, pleads for his and his father’s release. He recounts the traumatic event of their kidnapping from Shikarpur, revealing his father, Master Sohail Brohi, was seriously wounded by gunfire during the abduction. Feroz shares his anguish over the separation from his father, who is held at a different location, and his frustration with the lack of rescue efforts.
Adding to the urgency, Feroz appeals directly to notable political figures, such as National Assembly member Ijaz Jakhrani and Provincial Assembly member Sher Muhammad, for intervention and assistance securing their freedom.
In a related development, a 5-year-old boy, Ayaz Pathan, who Kacha bandits also kidnapped on April 14 from Guddu Kashmore, has been rescued. His captivity and distress, captured in a widely circulated video where he was seen crying while in chains, had galvanized public and media attention. The bandits had initially demanded a ransom of 50 lakh rupees for his release, highlighting the dire security challenges in the region.
