The Sindh government has initiated digitization of its tax system to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
During a recent interview with WealthPak, Director General of Excise Aurangzeb Akbar Panhwar revealed that the Excise and Taxation Department has digitalized its tax collection system. This update allows taxpayers to fulfil their obligations online without visiting offices physically.
Panhwar highlighted that the provincial government had previously digitized land records, automating the property transaction registration. The digitalization of the tax system aims to save time, reduce inconveniences, and increase convenience for the public. This advancement boosts transparency, enabling residents to pay their vehicle taxes from home. Taxpayers can now securely and reliably complete their tax payments within minutes at any time.

According to Mohsin Fayyaz, Director of the Finance Policy Wing, increasing internal revenue is crucial for sustaining these development programs.
