Sindh’s industrial sector workers have received a significant wage increase announced by the Sindh government. This adjustment reflects a 15.62% salary hike for semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled workers across 50 industries.
According to the Department of Labour and Human Resources notification, the revised monthly wages are Rs. 38,280 for semi-skilled workers, Rs. 45,910 for skilled workers, and Rs. 47,868 for highly skilled workers. This follows last week’s cabinet approval to raise the minimum wage for unskilled labourers in the province to Rs 37,000.
Additionally, the Sindh Police, in collaboration with the National Police Foundation (NPF), has launched a new welfare initiative to support its personnel up to the inspector rank. This program offers affordable housing plots and interest-free electric motorcycles.
During a meeting at the Police Headquarters in Garden South, which included Sindh IG Ghulam Nabi Memon and other high-ranking officials, the NPF’s Managing Director, Irfan Zaman, he highlighted the foundation’s dedication to enhancing police welfare. Zaman also mentioned that the NPF would contribute Rs50,000 towards the down payment for each plot in the first 2,000 units of the Police Housing Society.
