The Sindh government has introduced a province-wide e-marking system to digitise the student assessment process and minimise errors in examination papers. The initiative was launched on Thursday by Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards Ismail Rahoo during a collaborative meeting with the Inter-Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) and the Sindh Boards Committee of Chairmen (SBCC).
Minister Rahoo emphasised the government’s commitment to reforming the examination infrastructure. “We want to establish an examination system in Sindh’s education boards that is not only compatible with modern requirements but also transparent, reliable and fully digital,” he stated during the inaugural session.
He highlighted that promoting e-marketing and digital transformation across all educational boards remains a top priority. The objective is to provide modern assessment tools and ensure equitable access to quality education for every student in the province.

Rahoo noted that e-marking has already been successfully piloted in some of Sindh’s education boards. The government now plans to expand the system to all remaining boards by the next academic year.
The minister directly linked the digital shift to greater accountability, stating, “We are taking all possible steps to make examination results transparent, to control issues such as paper leaks and to eliminate plagiarism.” He described the improvement of the examination system as a “collective responsibility” and expressed encouragement at the unified support from all provincial boards.
During the meeting, Minister Rahoo also addressed several administrative issues. He vowed to take action against a professor at Shah Abdul Latif University over continuous absenteeism. Regarding staff appointments at the university’s Khairpur campus, he assured that relevant court orders would be implemented.
