The Sindh government has approved the creation of 8,049 new positions in the School Education and Literacy Department for the 2026 academic year.
An official letter confirming the decision has been issued to the Section Officer (Secondary-I) of the department. According to the notification, the newly sanctioned posts span multiple administrative and academic grades. They focus on improving governance and management in public schools.
The approved strength includes 44 posts of Chief Head Master or Headmistress in Basic Scale (BS) 20. It also includes 593 posts of Senior Head Master or Head Mistress in BS-19, 1,444 posts of Head Master or Head Mistress in BS-18, and 5,968 posts of Head Master or Head Mistress in BS-17.
Officials said the expansion is part of broader reforms introduced by the Sindh Education Department. These aim to strengthen institutional leadership and improve academic oversight as the province prepares for the 2026 academic cycle. The move aims to improve decision-making at the school level and raise overall education standards.

Earlier, Syed Murad Ali Shah said the provincial government is setting new benchmarks in infrastructure, energy, innovation, and environmental sustainability. They are achieving this through strategic public-private partnerships. His remarks came as Sindh marked three major milestones in collaboration with EnerTech Holding Company.
The ceremony at the CM House covered the Commercial Operations Date of the Nabisar–Vajihar Water Supply Project. It also included the execution of a concession agreement for the NED Science & Technology Park, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the TP-IV Wastewater Treatment Project. Together, the initiatives represent investments totalling more than $740 million.
Provincial ministers, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Investment Syed Qasim Naveed, Murtaza Wahab, diplomats, and EnerTech Holding CEO Abdullah Al Mutairi attended the event.
