Sindh confirmed that the Sindh board exams schedule will proceed as planned, despite the current situation. Matric and Intermediate examinations will occur on their scheduled dates across the province. Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ismail Rahoo announced the decision during a meeting to review exam preparations.
Officials discussed security at examination centres, furniture, drinking water, anti-cheating steps and other arrangements needed for the smooth conduct of the exams.
According to the announced plan, examinations for classes 9 to 12 across Sindh will start from April 7. A total of 13,53,258 students are expected to appear, and authorities have set up more than 1,600 examination centres across the province.
In Karachi, class 9 and 10 exams will begin on April 7, while Intermediate exams for classes 11 and 12 will start from April 25. In Sukkur, Matric exams will commence on March 30, followed by Intermediate exams from April 15.
The provincial government has also decided to introduce a modern watermarking system to prevent paper leaks. According to the source text, the system will help authorities trace those responsible if any exam papers are leaked.
The provincial government will establish a complaint cell at the Secretary Boards’ office. This cell will ensure stricter monitoring of examination centres and deploy vigilance teams. The minister warned that authorities will take strict action against board chairpersons if any paper leak occurs.

Authorities confirmed that Sukkur and Shaheed Benazirabad divisions will conduct exams entirely under an e-marking system. In Larkana, officials will assess selected papers from classes 9 to 12 through e-marking. In Karachi, all class 9 papers and two Matric papers will follow the same system.
The minister directed officials to use all available resources to ensure transparent and timely examinations. He also ordered immediate action on issues related to drinking water, furniture and other facilities at exam centres.
To curb cheating, Section 144 will be enforced at all examination centres, and mobile phones will be strictly prohibited. Authorities will also send letters to ensure there is no load-shedding during exam hours. These measures aim to create a more secure and fair exam environment for students across Sindh.
