Several districts in Sindh and Balochistan experienced tremors from the Sindh-Balochistan earthquake on Thursday, according to the Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). Residents in multiple areas reported feeling shaking in the late morning.
Tremors were felt in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Dadu, Naseerabad, and surrounding regions. Authorities have not immediately reported any damage or casualties.
The Seismic Monitoring Centre confirmed that tremors in Khuzdar were recorded at 10:52 am and again at 11:30 am. The second earthquake measured 5.6 on the Richter scale.
The Sindh-Balochistan earthquake tremors originated from an epicentre 86 kilometres northeast of Khuzdar, PMD officials said. The information was shared through official monitoring channels.
Local residents described the tremors as brief but noticeable. In some districts, people stepped out of homes and offices as a precaution. However, authorities have not issued any emergency alerts beyond the standard advisory.
Pakistan lies in a seismically active region due to tectonic plate movements. As a result, minor and moderate earthquakes are periodically recorded across various provinces.

Although the second quake registered a magnitude of 5.6, there were no immediate reports of structural damage. Local authorities remain alert and continue monitoring the situation.
