Ghee and cooking oil prices have significantly dropped over the past month, a welcome relief for households across Pakistan.
According to the dealers association, consumers can purchase Brand A and Brand B cooking oil and ghee at much lower prices.
Brand A cooking oil is now Rs 75 cheaper per litre, retailing at Rs 525. Similarly, Brand A ghee has decreased by Rs 25, priced at Rs 525 per kg.
Brand B ghee and cooking oil are now available for Rs 380 per litre, following a Rs 70 price cut.
This price reduction is a silver lining amidst broader economic challenges. The State Bank of Pakistan’s half-yearly economic review report projects an inflation rate of 23 to 25 per cent for the current financial year.
However, the report also offers optimism, forecasting a steady decline in inflation over the next six months. If this trend continues, the inflation rate could drop to 5 to 7 per cent by September 2025.
