DreamWorks Animation has announced two major additions to the Shrek 5 voice cast. Saturday Night Live star Marcello Hernández and actor Skyler Gisondo will join the returning original stars in the upcoming animated sequel.
Hernández and Gisondo will voice Fergus and Farkle, the sons of Shrek and Princess Fiona. They join the confirmed returning cast of Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, and Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona.
The film also features Zendaya as Felicia, another child of the beloved ogre couple, expanding the royal family of Far Far Away.

Shrek 5 brings together veteran directors Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn, who both have deep roots in the franchise. Vernon previously directed Shrek 2 and voiced the character Gingy, while Dohrn served as a writer and voice actor in earlier films.
The production team includes producer Gina Shay, known for her work on Shrek Forever After and the Trolls franchise. Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri and co-director Brad Ableson complete the experienced leadership team.

Shrek 5 is scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 30, 2027. The film aims to capture the original magic that made the franchise a global phenomenon while introducing new characters and storylines.
Since the first film’s debut in 2001, the Shrek franchise has generated nearly $3 billion in worldwide box office revenue. The combination of returning original cast members and new talent positions Shrek 5 as a highly anticipated return to the beloved animated world.
