In Bahawalnagar, Station House Officer (SHO) Rizwan and his team encountered complications when they allegedly entered a home without a search warrant and faced accusations of committing violence against women.
The situation escalated when the homeowner responded by confining the SHO and his officers within the premises.

This event unfolded during a nighttime operation conducted by the Madrassa Police Station in Chak Sarkari. The police team is said to have scaled the walls to gain entry into a house, where they allegedly assaulted the female occupants.
The commotion attracted the attention of the neighbourhood, resulting in the mobilization of community members who surrounded the police. Reports suggest that the SHO and his officers were detained by the locals, who also purportedly seized the SHO’s official belongings, including his pistol, cash, and mobile phone.

Conversely, police narratives indicate that the operation was intended to apprehend a wanted individual. During this effort, they claim to have been attacked by the suspect, Rizwan Abbas, and others. This altercation allegedly included gunfire aimed at the police, culminating in the officers being overpowered, dispossessed of their possessions, and held captive within a compound.
Reinforcements were swiftly dispatched to the scene, resulting in the extraction of the besieged SHO and his team. Following the ordeal, the injured officers received medical attention before being hospitalized. Subsequent actions saw the registration of a legal case at the Madrassa Police Station against 23 individuals, encompassing both men and women implicated in the affray. The initial aim of the police presence in Chak Sarkari was the capture of another suspect named Rafaqat.
