Sher Afzal Marwat, disheartened by the attitude of certain Pakistan Tehreek-e-Pakistan (PTI) leaders and after multiple unsuccessful attempts to meet Imran Khan, has declared that he will no longer cooperate with his adversaries within the party.
Marwat voiced his frustration following his latest failed effort to meet Khan, for which he blamed PTI leaders Shibli Faraz and Omar Ayub. He alleged that they did not facilitate his meeting despite assurances from the jail superintendent that Imran Khan had requested a separate meeting. When Marwat arrived for the meeting, the superintendent unexpectedly denied entry.
Furthermore, Marwat accused Faraz and Ayub of negatively influencing Khan, claiming they relayed a message from the Saudi ambassador that Marwat’s potential appointment as committee chairman would harm bilateral relations.
In response, Marwat has announced his refusal to collaborate with his opponents within PTI, expressing disappointment over how his contributions to the party have been met with social media criticism and the abrupt de-notification of his brother’s position. He noted that he would have resigned earlier if he had been properly informed.
Marwat also stated his readiness to resign from the National Assembly if Imran Khan requested it and emphasized that he would only participate in protests if Khan assigned him a specific role.
Reflecting on his journey with PTI, Marwat expressed a deep sense of disillusionment, remarking that the original agenda he supported seems to have been abandoned. He concluded by signalling his willingness to reveal the truth about internal party conflicts if the situation escalates further, suggesting that either prison authorities or higher-ups could be placing obstacles to his meeting with Khan.
