In a tragic train incident on Sunday near Qilla Sattar Shah in Sheikhupura district, two trains collided, injuring at least 20 passengers, including women and children.

Reports from local police suggest that the collision occurred when a Mianwali-bound passenger train rammed into a stationary freight train on the main railway line.

Emergency services were quick to respond. The injured were immediately transported to a nearby medical facility, with five reportedly in a severe condition.

Previous Train Mishap Shakes Nawab Shah

The accident follows a devastating derailment incident on August 6, where a shocking 25 lives were lost, and over 100 individuals suffered injuries. The Hazara Express, journeying from Karachi to Rawalpindi, derailed near Nawab Shah.

Sources from the railway department recounted that the calamity unfolded near Saharai Railway Station, between Shahzadpur and Nawabshah. The severe derailment led 10 of the Hazara Express’s bogies to veer from their tracks, resulting in chaos and trauma for the passengers onboard.
