Sheikh Rasheed, former interior minister and Awami Muslim League (AML), criticized the current government’s economic and border security policies.
The former federal minister made these remarks after meeting Imran Khan at his Lahore home in Zaman Park.
Sheikh Rasheed said Imran Khan will announce the dissolution of the Punjab and KP assemblies on December 17 at 8:00 pm.
Rasheed alleged the current authorities modified the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO) for ‘personal benefits’ and sought the Supreme Court to put their names on the Exit Control List (ECL).
He said the ruling coalition’s purpose was to eliminate Imran Khan technically. He mentioned this about Afghan forces shelling Pakistani citizens.
“The existing government isn’t serious about tackling the country’s problems,” he said, adding that political instability is fatal.
Sheikh Rasheed said ‘transparent and immediate elections’ were the only solution to the country’s problems, and if the government weren’t serious about elections, they wouldn’t negotiate.
