One year after the sudden death of Indian actress Shefali Jariwala, fresh controversy has emerged following startling claims by her husband, Parag Tyagi.
Shefali, who gained nationwide recognition with the hit song “Kaanta Laga” and later appeared in several reality television shows, passed away in June 2025. Doctors attributed her death to cardiac arrest, and authorities have not revised that conclusion.
In a recent podcast interview, Tyagi claimed that black magic may have played a role in her death. He described this belief as deeply personal, saying it stems from his own experiences rather than speculation.

“Many people may not believe in such things, but I do,” Tyagi said. “Where there is God, there is also Satan. I truly believe someone performed black magic.”
He added that he sensed something was wrong well before her passing. Tyagi said he noticed unusual changes in Shefali, even during moments of worship. According to him, these feelings intensified shortly before her death, leaving him convinced that external forces were involved.
Medical experts, however, continue to stand by the original findings. No authority has announced a new inquiry, and officials have taken no action in response to Tyagi’s remarks.
Since Shefali’s passing, Tyagi has spoken openly about his grief. He often shares memories and tributes on social media, including an emotional post on what would have been her 43rd birthday.
