The Sindh High Court (SHC) has halted the College Education Department from proceeding with alleged illegal appointments for grade 16 positions.
The court intervened after a plea highlighted that an advertisement was published for 251 job openings, despite regulations mandating that only 50 per cent of these recruitments be conducted through the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC).
The petition argued that the Department of College Education was not adhering to its rules, as it made all appointments exclusively through the SPSC. During the proceedings, the attorney representing the petitioner argued that according to departmental regulations, half of the open grade-16 positions should be filled by promotion, with the SPSC filling the remainder.
