The internationally renowned filmmaker from Pakistan, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s documentary ‘A Girl In The River: The Price of Forgiveness’ has won the Oscar at the 88th Academy Award Ceremony.
It is the second Academy Award pocketed by the filmmaker.
Sharmeen Chinoy’s work that grabs this year’s Oscar highlights the issue of honour killings in Pakistan. Her award winning documentary was also lauded by the PM and it even premiered at the PM house in Islamabad.
