The accountability court in Karachi has ordered the production of additional witnesses in corruption proceedings involving Sindh minister Sharjeel Memon.
Sharjeel Memon, a provincial minister, and other defendants came before the accountability court in Karachi to answer charges of Rs6 billion in corruption and assets beyond income.
In the Rs6 billion corruption case, a witness recorded his testimony before the accountability court. The judge ordered the prosecutor to produce additional witnesses at the next hearing.
Today, the prosecution failed to produce any witnesses involving assets beyond income. It is crucial to note that the evidence of other witnesses was recorded in the case against Memon involving assets over income.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) asserts that Sharjeel Memon and others caused billions of dollars in losses to the national treasury through corrupt acts
The hearing was adjourned till December 14.
