Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chairman Najam Sethi has confirmed that Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif were suspended after having concrete evidence of corruption against them.
Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chairman Najam Sethi in an interview said “No one big or small is exempt. We shall protect this asset of Pakistan,” Sethi said, shortly after Sharjeel Khan and Khalif Latif were suspended and sent home on charges of spot-fixing allegations.

“We had credible information that things were not right. ICC has conducted its own independent investigations and we have conducted our own,” he said.
“The investigation will be conducted by our anti-corruption unit and these two players will remain suspended. They will be given the chance to defend themselves,” he said.

“It is the first time that PCB has taken a strong action. We have to send a strong message that there is zero corruption.”
“Our vigilance will continue and if we spot any suspicions, there will be no sparing,” he said.
Responding to a question, he said that it was inevitable that success of the first edition of the league would attract bookies.
