Bangladesh cricket star Shakib Al Hasan attracted attention online following a video that captured him assaulting a fan who attempted to take a selfie with him.
The incident occurred during a Dhaka Premier League match, during which Shakib discussed the match with team staff. As seen in the video, a fan approached with a phone, seemingly asking for a selfie. Shakib declined and pushed the phone away. Subsequently, the footage revealed Shakib physically pushing the fan.
This is not the first time Shakib’s temper has become public. In January, he was filmed slapping an individual at a political event, and the video quickly spread across social media.
The altercation happened while Shakib was visiting a polling station to monitor the voting process closely.
Notably, Shakib had recently entered politics, securing a parliamentary seat in the ruling Awami League, led by Sheikh Hasina Wajid. His election victory was overwhelming, aided by his opposition’s boycott of the general election.
Additionally, Shakib faced online ridicule following another viral video. In this video, during his election campaign, he appeared disinterested while posing for selfies with supporters. He was visibly detached, yawning and showing no emotion during the interactions.
