Senior politician Sher Afzal Marwat has made fresh claims in the high-profile Toshakhana case involving former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi. Marwat alleged that former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief of Staff Shahbaz Gill misappropriated official gifts during his tenure.
Speaking on ARY News’ programme Off The Record, Marwat said official records showed that a gold gourd, commonly referred to as a gold lota, had been issued in the name of Bushra Bibi. He claimed, however, that the item was received by Shahbaz Gill instead.
Marwat further alleged that Shahbaz Gill also took two mobile phones belonging to Imran Khan and later handed them over to former DG ISI Faiz Hameed. He said these actions surfaced during an internal inquiry into Gill’s conduct.

According to Marwat, investigators found that the gold lota never reached Bushra Bibi. He claimed the item was sold to an individual who owns one of Pakistan’s largest petrol pump networks. Following these developments, Shahbaz Gill was reportedly expelled from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf over the alleged theft of mobile phones and a gold lota.
The Toshakhana case continues to attract public and legal scrutiny as authorities examine the custody and handling of official gifts. Investigators are also assessing the role of political aides and officials in the alleged irregularities.
