Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, has been transferred from Adiala Jail to Lahore as part of ongoing legal proceedings.
Qureshi appeared before an anti-terrorism court concerning charges from an incident on May 9, during which copies of the indictment were distributed. Dr Yasmin Rashid criticized the conditions of his appearance at Kot Lakhpat Jail, describing them as condemnable.
Dr. Rashid voiced strong objections in front of the judge, particularly criticizing the use of leg irons and a prisoner’s truck for transportation. She successfully demanded the removal of Qureshi’s handcuffs.
Dr Rashid emphasized the importance of moderation in enforcement actions, remarking on the impermanence of current circumstances and advocating for a measured approach to handling the case.
