PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Dr. Shireen Mazari met the leader of the opposition Syed Khursheed Shah and discussed the appointment of the new chief election commissioner (CEC).
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Shah said that the Prime Minister was yet to send any name for the top slot.
“We have consulted the PTI in this regard,” he said. “There will be more consultations once the prime minister sends names for the post of CEC chief,” he stated.
To a question, he said that ECPs’ role in the previous election was not a good one.
Speaking on this occasion, Qureshi said that four ECP’s members were also controversial. Not only the CEC, but all four members must step down, he demanded.
