Shafqat Ali Khan has been named the new spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office, taking over from Mumtaz Zahra Baloch.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed this appointment through an official notification. Shafqat, currently the Additional Foreign Secretary for Europe, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as Pakistan’s ambassador to Russia and Poland.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the former spokesperson, will now serve as Pakistan’s ambassador to France, media sources have indicated.
There were rumours that Shafqat Ali Khan had assumed the spokesperson position before the confirmation. His extensive diplomacy and foreign relations background will enhance Pakistan’s external communication efforts.
