Several people including at least one journalist and a police men sustained injuries in a blast close to the Excise and taxation office in Mardan, KPK.
The injured have been rushed to district headquarters hospital.
Police and security personnel have reached the area and cordoned off the site of the explosion near Mall Road.
Several government offices and a public car parking are situated close the Excise and Taxation office located in a densely populated area.
Police said the exact nature of the explosion could no be ascertained as yet.
