In a recent statement, the military reported that six soldiers and one civilian were martyred during a clearance operation at a Frontier Corps compound in Muslim Bagh, Balochistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) noted that the operation, which began on Friday, concluded early Saturday morning following the successful repulsion of a terrorist attack. According to the ISPR, the comprehensive operation also involved a hostage rescue mission to free three families, including children, who were trapped in a residential block by the terrorists.
ISPR revealed that the security forces successfully neutralized all six well-armed terrorists within the compound. The military is now conducting an extensive intelligence follow-up to uncover any connections, apprehend facilitators, and identify those who sponsored the attack.
The military confirmed that seven individuals, including a civilian, were martyred in the operation, and an additional six people, including a woman, were injured.
The military remains committed to preserving Balochistan’s peace, stability, and progress, promising to counter any attempts to undermine these elements.
The ISPR reported that two terrorists had been killed since the armed assault commenced. The assault began early Friday morning, and the security forces had been operating to secure the compound since then.
In light of the recent surge in terrorist attacks across the country, Pakistan’s civil and military leadership have pledged to unite in their fight against terrorism and to eradicate it.
Last month, the National Security Committee (NSC) agreed to initiate an extensive operation to eliminate the threat of terrorism. This operation, backed by the full force of the nation and the government, aims to rid the country of this menace. The committee reaffirmed its commitment to this goal, especially in light of the recent increase in terrorist activity due to the regrouping of banned organizations.
