Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Shahid Hayat among four AIGs and five deputy inspector general (DIGs) serving on Own Pay Scale (OPS) have been removed from their positions via court order.
The OPS officers were promoted to senior posts despite their ‘ineligibility’.
Ghulam Qadir Thebo has been appointed as additional IG Karachi after Hayat’s removal. Shahid Hayat was appointed on December 6 last year.
The Supreme Court had issued orders for removal of all OPS officers from Sindh police on May 9.
According to reports, at least 900 officers were appointed on OPS in Sindh.
