Tribunals will finalize appeals regarding accepting or rejecting nomination papers for Senate elections on Monday. The updated candidate list will be released on Tuesday, with a deadline for withdrawing nomination papers set for Wednesday.
Polling for 48 vacant seats in the upper house is scheduled for the second of next month. In the federal capital, National Assembly members are to elect senators for one general seat and one technocrat seat, including Ulema.
Provincial assembly members across the four provinces will vote for senators in various categories: seven general seats, two seats for women, and two for technocrats, including Ulema, in each province.
One senator representing non-Muslims will also be elected from both Punjab and Sindh provinces.
