Security forces in Mach town, 70km from the provincial capital, successfully repelled three coordinated terrorist attacks. The onslaught involved rockets and sophisticated weaponry.
Details of the Assault and Response
The attacks, linked to the Aslam Acho group and claimed by the Majeed Brigade of the BLA, targeted the railway station, central jail, and a police station. At least one policeman was martyred, and a truck driver was injured. Security forces swiftly responded, engaging in hours-long gunfire with the terrorists.
Balochistan’s caretaker Minister for Information, Jan Achakzai, stated that there were no security force casualties or damage to installations. Following the attacks, Mach town experienced a blackout, and traffic on the Quetta-Sibi Highway was halted. Residents were advised to stay indoors, and the district hospital was put on emergency alert.
The Inspector General Prisons, Balochistan, Shuja Kasi, confirmed rocket impacts near the Mach jail’s residential colony. The jail superintendent assured that the prison and its inmates, including 800 prisoners and some on death row, were safe.
Additionally, armed individuals attacked a police station in the Gokrt area, which Levies and security forces promptly thwarted. Abdul Malik Shahwani, a truck driver, was admitted to the district hospital Dhadar with bullet injuries.
